In honor of April's Camp NaNoWriMo, a project that helps participants gear up for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in November, this week's prompt is designed to help writers learn more about the characters they are creating.
Write a scene that involves your main characters attending a party as the guests of honor.
Here are some decision points to get you started. Do they know about the party in advance, or is it a surprise party? What do they wear? Who attends the party? What do they say to the guests? How do they feel about the party? What is the occasion?
Aside from learning about their level of introversion vs. extroversion, you might find whether they tend to over-indulge in food or drink or if they're picky about certain foods. Maybe a guest shows up uninvited. Maybe the party host inadvertently invites someone the guests of honor don't want to see. How does your protagonist handle the situation?
